  The Board of Architects, Cambodia will host its first major Cambodia Architects Congress 2017 themed “Building Sustainable Development” at the DIEC, Koh Pich, Phnom Penh from 7-8 September 2017. This event will be the largest gathering of architects in the country and is expected to attract hundreds of delegates. Co-located with CAMBUILD’17- Cambodia’s Biggest Building & Construction Exhibition, it is where developers, contractors, interior designers, architects and M&E engineers and consultants can source for new supplies, machinery and technology from over 500 exhibiting companies from 32 countries.

Cambodia is currently enjoying a building and construction boom with double digits growth over the past 4 years. The number of high rise projects is evident from the city skyline with residential, offices, retail shopping centres leading the way. The construction sector is forecast to increase by over 20% in 2016. The total value of construction project investment in Cambodia will continue to expand rapidly with investments in tourism related projects, manufacturing and commercial buildings. The value of the building sector is expected to exceed US$4 billion in 2016. In addition, the Government will continue to upgrade its infrastructure that will also spur the building and construction sector.

The Cambodia Architect Congress 2017 is a 2 day event that will feature a panel of top architects from around the region. Day 1 will focus on iconic green building architecture and the technical advances in the design and construction of high rise buildings. Day 2 will see technical papers on innovations in design, building and construction technology. Full Congress program will be available in July 2017.
